PLANT INFORMATION » Floating Plants

There are a few different types of floating plants and we carry two varieties, water hyacinths and water lettuce. These plants are unique and freely float on the surface of the water. Their long root system helps with filtration, and if you are looking for good surface coverage floating plants do a great job of that. These two plants are tropical and cannot be over wintered in our area.

DEPTH: Free floating on the surface of the water.

WINTER CARE: No one that we are aware of in this area has ever successfully wintered these plants over. They are a beneficial plant to the pond and need to be replaced every year.

MAINTENANCE AND CARE: Remove all dead leaves periodically.
